The Cambridge Colleges BioScience Experience is an opportunity for Year 11 students at schools across the UK to have a taste of what studying Biological Sciences at Cambridge University is like.
Incredibly enthusiastic people running the session with a passion that spreads. Loved it! – Student Feedback
The BioScience Experience is a one day event organised by the Department of Plant Sciences in collaboration with a number of Cambridge colleges. It is modelled on the highly successful Cambridge Colleges Physics Experience run at the Cavendish laboratory. The one day programme consists of:
- a morning spent at a Cambridge College with a tour of the college, information about studying at Cambridge and advice given on Higher Education and applying to Cambridge.
- an afternoon in the Plant Sciences Department where students have a mini-lecture on exciting contemporary issues in Biological Sciences, and take part in a practical session based on an undergraduate lab class.
I found Cambridge enriching. It really encouraged students to raise their expectations – Teacher Feedback
The Experience is generously supported by the Cambridge University Widening Participation Project Fund, as part of the University’s commitment to outreach. For more infomation please contact us.
